But you said grandma, “Ask and you shall receive?"
Told by Grandma Laurie Ott
Don Schmitz & Grandkidsandme

All weekend long as Allie passed the counter, she could see only one thing. It was a light tan dog with large heavy front feet and a red heart around its eye.

Allie fell in love with it immediately and knew she had to have it!

She told her Grandmother about it immediately.  Grandma looked at and dog and said, “It’s cute but we must get going”.

Allie was so disappointed but knew there was still time.

Again Allie and her Grandmother walked by the cute little puppy and she said to her Grandmother, “Could I please get the puppy”?

Again, Grandma Laurie blew her off and said, “We’ll think about it”.  This was something Allie knew meant “No”!

In the meantime, Allie went to see the dog and even asked the salesperson to put it on hold so no one else could buy it.

On Sunday after breakfast, when they were leaving Grand View Lodge for the last time, Allie thought she would ask one more time.  She said, “Grandma, if you buy it, I will even pay for it with my own money when I get home!”

At that moment Grandma Laurie couldn’t stand it any longer. She reached into her coat and showed her the cute little puppy with the red heart around it's neck that she had already purchased, but was saving for her birthday next month.

Allie, looked at her Grandma, back at the dog and than said with a big smile said, “Thank you Grandma, I love you!”
