Story told by Opal Tomson

Grandma Thomsen loved to make Cabbage Patch doll's for her granddaughters for Christmas Gifts. After Christmas, Grandma Thomsen had one left over that she placed under the tree next to a toy dog.

After Christmas, grandson Shawn age five, went to Grandma's for a visit. As soon as he entered the house, he spotted the new doll and asked, "What's the name of the doll?"

Grandma answered, "Oh, that's Jimmy, he keeps me company when you're not here".

Shaun was curious and asked again, "Well, whose dog is that?"

Grandma answered, "Oh that dog belongs to the doll Jimmy, he needs a friend too."

Grandma could tell Jimmy was very confused as he stood there with a strange look on his face.

Finally he said,  "Well, can I play with Jimmy and the dog Grandma?"

Grandma answered, "Oh sure you can."

Soon it was time to go home and he gave Grandma a kiss on the cheek and said,  "Grandma, I have to tell you something, you know that doll Jimmy, he isn't real and you know something else, neither is his dog!"
